Dosa Varieties

Plain Dosa


               
     
  Ingredient
  
                Boiled rice  : 2 cups
       Raw rice     : 1 handful 
                Urad dal     : 1 cup
       Fenugreek    : 1tsp
       Salt         : for taste
       Oil          : as required

Preparation               

  1. Soak the both rice,fenugreek and dal separately for 3 hours.
  2. Grind the both rice,fenugreek and dal separately.
  3. Mix both of them and add salt.
  4. Allow the batter for ferment up to 10 hours.
  5. Add some water if needed.
  6. Now heat the tawa and spread the batter on the whole of tawa.
  7. Pour the oil over it and cook it on the other side also.
  8. Put little water on the tawa and wipe it with a clean cloth before making each dosa.
  9. Serve hot with sambar.


Spicy Maida Dosa
 
                                           



 Ingredient

             Maida            : 1 cup
        Cumin seeds      : 1 tsp
        Pepper           : 1 tsp
        Green chilies    : 1(cut into small pieces) 
        Salt             : for taste
        water            : as required
     


  
Preparation                     
              
  1. Take maida and mix it with water,stir well until the maida lumps dissolved in that.  
  2. Add some water if required(thickness of maida batter is same as the ordinary dosa). 
  3. Add cumin seeds,pepper,green chilies,salt in the maida batter.
  4.  Now heat the tawa and spread the maida batter on the whole of tawa.
  5. Pour the oil over it and cook it on the other side also.
  6. Put little water on the tawa and wipe it with a clean cloth before making each dosa.
  7. Serve hot with ginger chutney. 


Pasipayaru(Greengram) Dosa


                          

 Ingredient

               Green gram     : 1 cup
       Raw rice       : half cup
       Small onions   : 10 -12
       Red chilies    : 10
       Salt           : for taste
                    
                        
Preparation
  
  1.  Wash and soak the green gram and rice for 5 hours.
  2. Grind both of them.
  3. And also grind the red chilies,onions.
  4. Mix both of them, add water if required to make the batter like the ordinary dosa.
  5. Add salt for the taste.
  6.  Now heat the tawa and spread the green gram batter on the whole of tawa.
  7. Pour the oil over it and cook it on the other side also.
  8. Put little water on the tawa and wipe it with a clean cloth before making each dosa.
  9. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
